The body develops on the basis of its function or in the words of Andrew Tailor Still "Structure governs function and function induces structure". These are the foundations of osteopathic belief and that's what I believe in. The body especially of an athlete grows to achieve the physical goal in a specific way with maximum performance and less effort. Our physiology is so perfect that it changes according to what we will be subjected to in the future, which is why some athletes have a higher shoulder than the other or a more rotated foot rather than a more developed muscle chain. Osteopathy will not modify these postural alterations as they are generated to improve physical performance but will balance the loads so as not to overload the joints and improve the athlete's performance even more. It is always better to intervene before injuries, being able to improve the system results in much more important results. I specialize in competitive athletes in disciplines such as athletics, swimming, football, artistic gymnastics, tennis, paddle and ski; athletes who have chosen to include osteopathic practice in their annual routine to improve their performance and reduce injuries through manual treatment plans, support with kinesio taping and targeted functional training. I chose to be an osteopath because as an athlete I was "saved" by an osteopath, this has therefore become my mission for the athletes of the future.
